2024 Recipients

The George G. and Alva Hudson Smith Foundation has announced its grant awards for 2024. The Foundation is awarding grants to organizations across Hill County. In the 30 years since its existence, the Foundation has awarded over $3,000,000 to area organizations which serve the Hill County communities. 

This year’s grants were awarded to a variety of educational, community service, and social service organizations for projects consistent with the Foundation’s mission to enrich the lives of Hill County citizens.

A complete list of recipients, amounts, and purposes of this year’s grants includes the following:

CASA of Hill County: $3,800

Purchase of recruitment materials to attract volunteers and inform the community of CASA’s mission.

Hill County Kids: $7,000

Purchase of a trailer and shelving to help provide food for children needing nutritional support during the weekends.

Meals on Wheels Waco: $8,600

Revitalization of the Senior Center Programs in Hillsboro, Hubbard, and Whitney by introducing new activities and programs.

Aquilla ISD: $9,000

Purchase of new equipment to enhance and expand the AG mechanics courses for students. 

Hill County Child Protective Services Board: $10,000

Purchase of clothing for children in the Hill County foster care system.
